In this edition of Membership Monday, CareLink is excited to feature Allan Allard, a Part-Time Activities Coordinator and CNA at Tockwotton on the Water. Allan brings not only fun but also purpose to the residents he works with by sharing his passion for cooking. Alan, who works on Mondays and Thursdays, makes it a point to incorporate cooking demonstrations into his weekly shifts. He enjoys experimenting with unique ingredients and preparing exciting dishes for the residents to try. This week, he’s planning to treat everyone to a Tamarillo Tart. Alan’s connection with the Courtyard residents runs deep. He values each resident as an individual and cherishes the shared experiences that contribute to the warm and caring atmosphere at Tockwotton.
Although Alan first joined Tockwotton in 2018, he had to take a break due to health reasons. However, after recovering, he returned part-time last April. Heather Tompkins, the Courtyard Program Director, is thrilled to have him back, noting the renewed energy and enthusiasm he brings to the team. Alan’s life journey has taken him from Rhode Island to Hawaii and San Francisco, where he once owned an antique shop. His diverse interests, including cooking, antiquing, and thrifting, reflect his vibrant personality. At home in Pawtucket, Alan shares his space with his two beloved Russian Blue cats, Coco and Polo. If you happen to see Alan at Tockwotton, be sure to say hello. And if you share his interests in antiques or cooking, he’d love to chat with you.
